| The above pics give you a good idea of what the car looks like just sitting around. Don't let the up close pics to follow fool you. This is a sharp car that gets a lot of attention while driving through the city. |
These are some of the worst examples
(and most of the examples) of paint chips I could locate. The
paint is not perfect, but it is a quality paint job that always
caught other's attention when I drove it around town. |
| These are the worst examples of paint problems on the car. |
Here is an example of the worst
upholstery hole (only one other I have found), the worst paint/rust
example, worst hinge rust you will find on the car, and if you
look closely you will see the windshield crack Honestly once driving
you hardly notice it despite it's length. |
Immediately left is an example of
the finest floor pan under the battery compartment I have ever
seen. (this was partially why I paid full asking price for the
car. You can also see the front stabilizer bar which seems to
help a lot. The rest is self explanatory. |
| General interior pics above |
| Wiring under hood is not pretty, but all wiring is very solid. Wiring in engine compartment has been spliced with solder as opposed to "butt" splices and covered properly with heat shrink tubing. |
Some more good pics of the car in
various poses and showing off how |
Give the clips below a minute to load. Longer if on 56K :)

Finally, let me tell what I feel are important positive points. First of all the car handles better than any Vdub I've driven before. The electrical works flawlessly right down to all dash bulbs. The only thing missing is a working hazard switch. The paint is high quality, tires are good, and all of the rest of the rubber was replaced when it was painted. This results in a car where you have to shut the last door much harder when the windows are up due to the pressure in the cabin. This too is something I have never before experienced in a Vdub. Lots of good original trim including chrome. The transaxle had it's gear oil changed out and new CV boots installed very recently. Tranny is also quite solid. The CD stays with the car and the engine wiring was redone by soldering the existing to the new, then all wiring was covered with proper heat shrink tubing.
